Director, Risk Management and Privacy - General Counsel

RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH) is the largest health care system in New Jersey with 13 hospitals, over 9000 private physicians, 1200 employed physicians and residents and 32,000 employees. RWJBH seeks a Director of Risk Management and Privacy. This position will report through the General Counsel office. The Director of Risk Management and Privacy will: Implement a comprehensive Risk Management Plan designed to mitigate insurance and clinical risk. Work with theGeneral Counsel and System Privacy Officer to provide corporate leadership for the local risk managers and privacy officers throughout the System; Implement a HIPAA privacy program to protect the privacy rights of the System's constituents, and audit and monitor compliance with applicable state and federal privacy laws, policies and procedures; Work with the System Data Security Officer to assure thesecurity of the System's electronic data and its compliance with HIPAA; With the General Counsel, oversee and manage theSystem's insurance programs, including the System's captive insurance program; Provide ongoing education and training to providers, risk managers and employees regarding clinical risk management, insurance privacy strategies, and other topics; Develop strategies to reduce losses throughout the System, including, without limitation, workers compensation, professional and general liability, employer's practices liability and auto; Document, investigate and act on privacy complaints and breaches and risk management incidents and claims. Job Requirements: Bachelor's and/or Nursing degree required; Minimum of 7 years of risk management and/or privacy compliance/officer experience in a large hospital and/or System setting; In-depth knowledge of state and federal privacy laws and requirements; Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated experience interacting professionally with physicians and regulatory agencies; physicians; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deliverables; Demonstrated experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and an incident reporting and/or claims administration system. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
